| Meriam's Corner is a large open field where, in our re-enactment scenario, the British forces met the full Colonial forces. My company arrived there having marched through a forest and around a swamp. When we got there, the other two companies were already engaging the British, and we marched to a corner behind the main action and turned to face the British who had we had met earlier at Old North Bridge. We fired on them from the tree-line and nearly got caught between them and the trees and had to make a run for it toward the main area of battle. |
| A huge crowd was on the slopes of the field watching the main battle. The following pictures were all taken by my father, who with my mother was one of the people watching the battle. They had no idea where I was, of course. Click on any of the images below to see it in full size. |

As we ran from our corner, we were re-inforced by another group of Colonials. Between us and them, the British were surrounded and had to move toward the main part of the battle. We followed, and by the time we joined the main battle, the fighting was over. The photo at the bottom right shows a line of Colonials followed by another group marching in. I'm at the back of the company marching in, so of course (being short) you can't see me. |
