June 14-17:4th Annual Mohican Gathering, Chimney Rock Park (and elsewhere), NC  Note that this is not a Ranger event, but is a private gathering of fans of the movie Last of the Mohicans, which I attended in period clothes.  Here's a picture of Pvt. Chauncey "on top of the world" from the end of the Last of the Mohicans.

June 20-24: Death of Lord Howe, Ticonderoga, NY  A one-time event, beginning a 2-day boat and canoe expedition from Fort William to Trout Brook Valley to engage with French, and ending with the death of Lord Howe (reenacted by John-Eric Nelson) near Fort Carillon (Ticonderoga). Click here to read the report on the Death of Lord Howe and the '01 Fort Ticonderoga Grand Encampment.  This is followed by the Grand Encampment

July 7-8: Hubbardton, VT   Reenacting the Battle of Hubbardton, 1777, in which the British forces coming from Fort Ticonderoga surprised the Colonial forces at 4:00am and whoopped 'em good. Please read my report on Hubbardton.

July 21-22: Revolutionary War Tactical, Fort No. 4, NH  (King's Rangers co-hosted this event with Knox' Artillery representing the American forces.)

July 28-29: Nathan Hale Homestead, Coventry, CT  Nathan Hale is an American hero who was hanged by the British in 1776 for being a spy, and according to legend his final words were: "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country." The irony of our attending this event as King's Rangers, led by Robert Rogers, is that Rogers leading a group of Queen's Rangers was responsible for Hale's arrest in New York City. For more in formation: A Short Biography of Captain Nathan Hale (1755--1776), Captain Nathan Hale, and Fort Nathan Hale.

August 4-5: F&I Grand Encampment at Fort No. 4, Charlestown, NH  Please be sure to read the report "Through Savage Eyes" by Jonas Sanchez.

September 8-9: Revolutionary War Encampment, Fort Ticonderoga, NY

Oct. 6-11: Lake George Tactical, Lake George, NY  The British came out in good numbers and basically whoopped the French!

October 20-21:Fort at No. 4, Charlestown, NH  Fort 4 describes this as "A portrayal of Robert Rogers' company of men [THAT'S US!!!] as they return from St. Francis. Be on hand to view the return of the Rangers in the morning by raft and watch the Fort 4 Militia go out to fetch the survivors. Hear the stories from the bedraggled men themselves."

Oct. 27-28: 225th Anniversary of the Battle of White Plains, Rev War Encampment, Pound Ridge, NY (finally, some place close to my home!). This is going to be a very big event. Pound Ridge is a beautiful location, and this event is going to recreate some of the original battles from the the Battle of White Plains. Should be wonderful!

November 11: Veteran's Day Parade, Naugatuck, CT
